Hazardous Waste Management, Sampling and Characterization
The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of 1976 provides regulations for the management of solid and hazardous waste. As addressed in Subtitle C of RCRA, hazardous waste must be regulated from the point of generation to the disposal facility. These regulations are outlined in 40 CFR 260-279. Many States have State-level hazardous waste requirements that exceed Federal regulations. Sites which have been determined to be contaminated with a hazardous waste may also be subject to the requirements set forth under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), also known as Superfund.
M&A can provide services to ensure that our clients are complying with Federal and State hazardous waste regulations, so that that our clients may avoid costly fines which can be imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). M&A’s hazardous waste consulting services include hazardous-waste sampling and characterization as well as coordination of transportation and disposal. Incident response and remedial services are also offered.
M&A employs experienced field personnel who are trained to respond to incidents involving hazardous materials. Additionally, our trained field investigators are equipped to sample drums containing known hazardous substances as well as unknown materials. |
